Top 10 Virgin Voyages Cruise Tips

1. Try to choose a voyage that spends the first day at sea

I love having my first day of a cruise on sea. It gives you a chance to really understand the set-up of the ship and an opportunity to explore the app for what kinds of activities you’re interested in while aboard. It also allows you a day on the pool deck to get out there and make some friends!

2. Book dinner reservations as soon as it is open

There are usually around 1900 people on The Lady which means meals reservations fill up fast! The dinner reservation page on your Sailor App opens 45 days before departure (sooner if you are VIP or in Rock Star Quarters). I booked my reservations right around that 45 day mark and was able to get a table every night around 8:30pm.

3. Take advantage of the ship activities

There are enough activities aboard The Lady to fill your day with. The Social Club has board games, air hockey, foosball, and shuttle board. I participated in trivia in a group of people I had never met before and had lots of good laughs! There is an arcade filled with enough of a variety to bring out anyone’s inner child. And if you want to, which I highly recommend, you could spend your WHOLE DAY trying different varieties of food. This comes at no cost to you of course since ALL food aboard The Lady is included in the price of your room!

4. Buy the drink package

Virgin Voyages always offers an extra $50 on your drink tab when you spend $300. I was able to get a deal that got me an extra $100 (book we me and I can get you deals like this as well!) Unlike other cruises, the drink tab can used by anyone, not just you!

5. Bring a fan

To help with the environmental impact of cruises, the air conditioning in your cabin automatically turns off when you open the terrace door. I think it’s an amazing idea but sometimes my door didn’t close all the way. I didn’t catch it before I fell asleep and would have woken up a sweaty mess if I hadn’t have brought my own portable fan with me.

6. If you’re working, buy the wifi

If you are going to want to use wifi to do anything other than see the subject line of your new emails, you are going to want to buy the additional wifi package. If you buy this add-on before the cruise, there is usually an additional discount associated with it. Remember you will be in international waters while cruising with Virgin Voyages so most of the time your cell phone service is not going to work!

7. Try ALL THE EXPERIENCES

Virgin Voyages tries very hard to diversify itself from other cruise lines so its performances are going to be extremely different from the comedy shows and musicals that you are used to. You are going to have to find out for yourselves what these consist of. There are also more atypical activities like a BDSM seminar and a singles-only cocktail hour.

8. Take the tram on Bimini

This is one of the stops and is a beach club exclusive only to Virgin Voyages passengers. I made the mistake of deciding to just walk there myself from the port instead of taking the tram and it ended up taking about 25 minutes. Bimini is one of the most beautiful beach clubs I have ever been to so you want to soak up as much time here as you can.

9. Try out a workout class

They have so many different ways to take care of your body while you are on vacation. Especially since you are going to be eating like you have never eaten before. There are a variety of classes to choose from, from sunrise yoga to kickboxing. These are also ALL included in your room rate but they fill up fast so make sure you reserve as soon as you get settled in.

10. Be prepared for a more Adult-centric experience

Because this is an 18+ cruise line, The Lady takes full advantage of behaving a little more risqué. There is champagne that will be brought to you by the shake of a phone. There is an ice cream shop called Like Me Till… Ice Cream. There is also an act that is nothing short of a comedy-filled Sex Seminar.

Needless to say, there is never a dull moment on The Lady and there is something for every type of adult! Interested in learning more? Click below in my bio to book a time for us to chat!
