How to Travel during Hurricane Season

Let's talk about travel during hurricane season... Is it possible? Yes...How might you ask?

Hurricane-resistant destinations.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from May to November and takes up a significant chunk of the year. I have no intention to discourage you from traveling to destinations you might love, like Cancun or Cabo. Instead, I want to offer an alternative if you are anxious your vacation could be impacted by a storm.

Consider avoiding the "hurricane belt" by traveling to the Caribbean islands closer to South America. The "ABC islands" - Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao - all have white sand beaches, clear blue water, and mild climates. Other Caribbean destinations to consider are Grenada, Barbados, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines.

Of course, traveling to some of these destinations that are less likely to get hit by a hurricane does NOT mean that you should go without travel insurance. I will always recommend travel insurance for every single booking. You never know when you might need it, hurricane or not.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So...which destination is on your summer vacation list? Tell me in the comments below.
