Greece: The Ideal Honeymoon and Anniversary Destination
Honeymooning in Greece was a dream come true—we started counting down the days a year in advance! As soon as we arrived, the ancient city welcomed us with open arms, inviting us to explore its rich history and culture. We wandered through the charming Plaka district, a maze of narrow streets filled with hidden gems. (Pro tip: Use Google Maps or Apple Maps to drop a pin on locations you want to revisit later—it was a lifesaver for us!)
One of our first stops was the iconic Acropolis, where we were in awe of the Parthenon. Our tour was incredible, filled with mythological stories, ancient beliefs, and fascinating history.
For breakfast, we visited Little Kook, a whimsical, fairytale-themed café hidden in the streets of Athens. Decorated in a Snow White theme, it’s a perfect spot for families and served some of the best crepes we’ve ever had. We also loved Fairytale Athens for coffee and enjoyed breakfast with a breathtaking view of the Acropolis at our hotel’s rooftop restaurant.
Dinner was a true highlight. One night, we dined at a rooftop taverna, savoring Greek specialties like moussaka and saganaki. Another night, we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a six-course meal 50 meters in the sky, with the Acropolis glowing in the distance. It was exhilarating and unforgettable!
On our way to Delphi, we stopped in Arachova, a picturesque mountain town. In winter, it’s a popular ski destination, but in summer, it’s peaceful and breathtaking. We visited the clock tower, enjoyed meals on scenic terraces, and tasted formaela cheese, a local specialty that we made sure to bring home.
Next, we traveled to Santorini, where the deep blue waters and whitewashed buildings made for the perfect romantic escape. We strolled through the winding streets of Imerovigli, discovering postcard-worthy views at every turn. One afternoon, we indulged in a couple’s spa experience, the perfect way to unwind after a busy wedding.
Perhaps the most unforgettable moments were watching the sunset over the caldera, where the sky was painted in hues of pink and orange. Greece was everything we dreamed of—stunning scenery, delicious food, fascinating history, and just the right amount of adventure. Saying goodbye was so hard, but I can’t wait to help future clients experience the same magic.
